About Us

Shana PhotoAs an Occupational Therapist (OT) who worked in home health for many years, Shana truly saw the difficulties her clients often had simply because their homes were not accessible to meet their temporary or long-term needs. She also thought it was a disservice that her clients had to wait until something traumatic happened, or until they were homebound, to receive therapy in their homes. Shana developed Adaptive Living to provide OT home evaluations and services before one becomes "homebound", or confined to their home. These out-patient services are typically covered by insurance if medical issues are limiting one's abilities and independence.

Shana also offers home accessibility consultation services to remodelers, builders, home owners who choose to age in place, the progressively ill or disabled, and many others. Shana's services can help a family determine the necessary solutions that are appropriate for her clients to age in place and/or to better plan for their future.

As an active member of her community, Shana is very involved as a member of the Visioneering Wichita Older Adult Alliance and the Aging and Wellness committee of the Health and Wellness Coalition of Wichita. She is also a member of American Occupational Therapy Association, Kansas Occupational Therapy Association, National Association of Women Business Owners and National Association of Home Builders.

"Your thorough personal and environmental assessment was both reassuring and eye opening. You have a keen eye for fall risk and saw things that I did not. Thank you Shana for your expertise, compassion and intuition. You have made a huge impact on all of our lives when you worked with my Grammy!"
